Kerry Katona has spoken frankly about her history of drug addition and how she felt she deserved all the abusive relationships she was in.

Speaking about her most recent husband that she’s currently in the process of divorcing, George Kay, Kerry, 37, revealed their volatile time together: ‘My last husband was quite aggressive and he was quite violent towards me,’ she claimed. ‘I’m not blaming nobody, I’m not blaming my mum for the drugs, I’m not blaming my husbands for the violence – I allowed myself to be in those situations.’

‘No one forced me to do anything I didn’t want to do,’ she said.

While on The Art of Winning Show, the former Atomic Kitten singer described how the alleged abuse felt. It was ‘almost as if I was being feisty towards my husband because I wanted to get a good hiding because I thought that’s what I deserved,’ she said.

‘But I’m stronger than ever now, I’ve walked away from it and I’ve turned it around. I’ve been bankrupt twice, married three times, five children by three different dads… but I feel amazing.’

During her time married to George, she also admitted that she would drink up to three bottles of Prosecco a night, while in what she described as a somewhat troubled relationship.

In 2017, George was acquitted of assaulting the star, after she retracted her statement. He later accused Kerry of being the abusive one, saying she threw a glass at his head.

Kerry has been married three times and has five children – Molly, 16, Lily-Sue, 15, Heidi, 11, and Maxwell, 9 – and also has a three-year-old son, Dylan-Jorge, with George.
