Khvicha Kvaratskhelia provides update on future as Liverpool learn Joshua Kimmich transfer stance

Napoli forward Khvicha Kvaratskhelia has revealed he will decide his future after Euro 2024 amid interest from the likes of Liverpool and Manchester City.

Kvaratskhelia scored and shone for Georgia in their famous 2-0 victory over Portugal on Wednesday. The 23-year-old netted the opener, driving into the box before drilling a low shot into the bottom corner. The win means Georgia have progressed to the round of 16 and face Spain next up on Sunday.

During the game against Portugal, ITV commentator Clive Tyldesley claimed that the Reds are interested in a move for Kvaratskhelia this summer. This is despite new Napoli boss Antonio Conte insisting Kvaratskhelia will stay at the club, with president Aurelio De Laurentiis set to offer him a new contract. His current deal expires in 2027, having joined Napoli two years ago from Dinamo Batumi.

Now, the Georgia international, who scored 11 goals and added eight assists in 34 Serie A appearances last season, has offered his side of the story on his future. Speaking after the win over Portugal, Kvaratskhelia said: "I respect Conte, he's one of the best managers. I respect also Napoli, I love Napoli. I will decide my future after the Euros. Now I’m focused on the game vs Spain."

Earlier on Wednesday, De Laurentiis said on Kvaratskhelia: "With Kvara, there are no problems because we have a contract: we will make him a proposal for a contractual change and in any case, I don't see any problems for him. Then there can also be those who make contact with the players without having been authorised by the club."

Meanwhile, Liverpool reportedly are interested in Ederson and admire the Atalanta midfielder after scouting the player last season. But the situation has gone quiet, according to Fabrizio Romano. It is claimed that the Italian club have yet to receive an offer from the Reds this summer.

Ederson is currently with Brazil at the Copa America in the United States. The midfielder remained an unused substitute during the team's 0-0 draw with Costa Rica in their opening group game on Monday night.

Someone else linked with a move to Anfield is Joshua Kimmich. BILD have reported that the German international wants to hold talks with Bayern Munich after the European Championship.

Both parties are reportedly leaning towards not renewing the Germany international's contract before it expires next summer. A transfer fee between £25m and £34m is mentioned as potentially enough to sign the player during the current transfer window.

However, Kimmich's huge wages of around £320k could pose a problem for Liverpool. The Reds are one of only five clubs it is claimed Kimmich will consider signing for, with Arsenal, Barcelona, Manchester City and Real Madrid being the others.
