The moment that Marion, 4, and her eight-month-old brother James burst into the unlocked study of their father, Professor Robert Kelly – who was being interviewed live on BBC World News – has gone down in history as one of the funniest videos on the internet.

And with around 30 million people having watched the real-life comedy sketch on Facebook alone, dozens of memes and parodies have been shared online.

But with no sign of stopping, the two tots have now inspired an online-only animated series called ‘The Adventures of Mina and Jack.’

The two children have been turned into cartoon characters for the show, which is a product of Hans House Productions, and created by New York couple Lauren Martin and Jarryd Mandy.

According to the series description, the story will follow a “precocious young girl named Mina, and her pesky baby brother Jack” on their globe-trotting adventures, as they try to help their dad, a UN official, “out of various jams.”

In the first episode, the pair – dressed in the same outfits that went viral with them – appear in a familiar office scene, before setting off on an adventure to North Africa on the trail of a mystery gold thief.

Prof Kelly has already approved of the video, saying: “I thought it was so cute. My wife and I both laughed. They made me look suitably dorky.”

Let’s hope TV network bosses are watching…
