Kieran Tierney opens up on Scotland 'heartbreak' as Arsenal star faces fresh injury nightmare

Kieran Tierney has spoken for the first time since the Scotland star saw his Euro 2024 campaign brought to an abrupt end through injury.

The Arsenal defender is back at his club for treatment after being stretched off with a nightmare hamstring injury during the 1-1 Group A draw against Switzerland - with Scotland assistant John Carver confirming before the matchday three fixture with Hungary that the left-back will play no further part in the tournament. It's a major blow for Steve Clarke's men as they look to make history with a win in Stuttgart on Sunday all-but guaranteeing they qualify for the knockout stage for the first time in the country’s history.

The frustrated star has opened up on his disappointment - which sees his second consecutive European Championships brought to an end through injury. Speaking on X, Tierney said: "Heartbroken doesn’t cut it. Love this team and these boys. This too shall pass."

Accompanied with the message were loveheart and saltire emojis. There was also an image of Tierney with his teammates.
