Kim Kardashian has opened up about the moment armed robbers burst into her hotel room in Paris in October 2016.

Kardashian was staying in the city during Paris Fashion Week when the incident that she says changed her "whole life" occurred.

In a new episode of E! True Hollywood Story, the reality star detailed the moment the robbers came into her room and stole a number of valuable jewels, including her $4 million, 20-carat engagement ring, tied her up and left her in the bathroom.

"Right as I was about to fall asleep, I heard guys running up the stairs" she said. "They wanted my ring and my jewellery, so I didn't fight back. I just gave them everything and they tied me up."

Kardashian believed she was "about to die" during the robbery.

"They wrapped duct tape over my eyes and my mouth" she said, "It was the scariest thing I've ever been through in my entire life, just thinking that, you know, you're about to die."

"You're just kind of bracing yourself for the moment that they're going to shoot you and kill you. That 10 minutes really changed my whole life."

Her husband Kanye West, who was in New York at the time, says he tries not to think about the robbery. “There are a lot of thoughts running through my head, related to that time,” he said in an interview on the programme. “I don’t like to watch those movies. Memories are movies in your mind — I like to watch the happy ones.”

Kardashian has revealed that since the robbery occurred she does not post real time images on Instagram and will keep tabs on how her children use social media in the future.

Her bodyguard Pascal Duvier was later sued for $6.1 million by Kardashian's insurer, who cited several security flaws, including a broken intercom, which may have allowed the robbers swift access to the building.
