Kim Kardashian Wears Janet Jackson’s ‘If’ Music Video Outfit She Bought at Auction

The SKIMS founder posted clips of her rocking the iconic look while attending Jackson's concert on June 4

Kim Kardashian is channeling Janet Jackson with her latest look!

On Tuesday, June 4, Kardashian, 43, posted a video of herself rocking the exact outfit worn by Jackson, 58, in the 1993 music video for her song “If” as she attended the singer’s concert. The singer previously revealed she had purchased the iconic ensemble at auction.

The SKIMS founder first teased part of her look in an Instagram Stories clip as she filmed herself walking in black flared pants with fringing on the sides and black boots indoors.

“Can you guys tell where I’m going tonight?” Kardashian asked her followers. “I bet you will never guess …”

She then panned out to reveal her full look in a another clip where she wore a black crop top with white boning across the chest and the matching lace-up pants as Jackson’s song “If” played.

“I’m spamming tonight so unless you wanna see so much @janetjackson content I suggest you stay off my page,” Kardashian excitedly wrote in the caption. 

While heading to the concert in Palm Springs, Calif., Kardashian continued to film her look in the car, where she showed off her white, boned choker, which was also worn by Jackson in the “If” music video.

In 2021, Kardashian revealed she bought Jackson’s music video outfit in an auction in celebration of the singer’s 55th birthday. Julian’s Auctions later confirmed in a tweet that The Kardashians star paid $25,000 for the custom look.

“For @janetjackson’s bday bc I’m such a fan I can’t believe I won this on @juliens_auctions,” Kardashian posted on Instagram Stories at the time.

On Tuesday, June 4, the SKIMS founder reposted Jackson’s message to her after buying the outfit three years ago.

“Thank you so much @kimkardashian! 💖💖,” the singer wrote. “I hope 'If' gives you as much pleasure as it did me 😘😘😘.”

Kardashain also shared clips on her Instagram Stories from her time at Jackson’s concert, where she was joined by best friend Allison Statter.

Kardashian's tribute look comes after she previously purchased multiple clothing items from the Jackson family.

In December 2019, Kardashian revealed that she and her ex-husband Kanye West purchased Michael Jackson’s velvet jacket and his iconic white fedora worn in his 1988 music video for “Smooth Criminal” in an auction for their daughter North, now 10.
