King Charles Visits Germany in First Overseas Trip as Monarch
King Charles and Queen Camilla arrived in Berlin, Germany, on Wednesday, March 29, for a three-day state visit, the first of the king’s reign.
Footage filmed by journalist Elizabeth Rushton for Berliner Zeitung shows King Charles and Queen Camilla meeting German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier and his wife, Elke Buedenbender, at the Brandenburg Gate, where a ceremonial welcome took place.
The BBC reported the king would attend a state banquet at the German president’s Bellevue Palace and visit St Nikolai Memorial, a church in Hamburg damaged during the Second World War. Credit: Elizabeth Rushton via Storyful
