Kirsten Dunst Coach Party Photos: Hilary Duff, Dominique Fishback

Kirsten Dunst and illustrator and designer Jessica Herschko celebrated the launch of their new Observed By Us capsule collection for Coach on Wednesday at the Sunset Tower Hotel in Los Angeles.

The line includes clothing, bags, footwear and accessories featuring Dunst and Hershko’s quirky drawings. “Our theme is like we’re all floating in space,” Dunst told Variety. “So there are stars and strawberries and fishes and UFOs. My son, when we were starting this collaboration, he made up this word ‘smoon’ for when the sun and the moon are out at the same time, so Jessica drew a smoon, which is a moon with sort of sun rays on it and now it’s on a lot of the pieces.”

Herschko added, “At the beginning we were thinking this would be a kids line but then they approached us and asked us to do a line for adults, we were like, ‘Why not make it whimsical?’”

Guests included Hilary Duff, Jesse Plemons, Melanie Lynskey, Dominique Fishback, Karl Glusman and more.

Dove Cameron recalled that her first big splurge after booking Disney Channel’s “Liv and Maddie” was an $800 Coach bag that she bought at fashion house’s store in the Burbank Town Center mall. “I still have it,” the actor-singer told Variety.

The launch party included a poolside dinner with a menu of beet and baby kale salads, steak frites, grilled branzino and quinoa and sticky toffee pudding for dessert.
