Kirstie Allsopp has launched a scathing attack on plug-in air fresheners, branding them "poisonous" and claiming that only "morons" use them. The forthright presenter of Channel 4's Location, Location, Location, who has a property in Devon, is well-known for her straight-talking style.

She recently took to social media to express her disdain for the common household item. She blasted: "Plug-in air fresheners are poison. If you use them you are a moron who is poisoning yourself, your family and your pets. No reason for them whatsoever."

While these products are designed to mask unpleasant smells with pleasant fragrances, they often contain chemicals which can include toxins, contributing to their ability to persist in the environment. Kirstie continued her tirade against what she considers "offensive" items by admitting: "I switch them off, or take out the batteries. I'm an air fresher terrorist."

Her comments resonated with many of her followers, some of whom reported experiencing adverse effects such as eye irritation and breathing issues after using air fresheners. Nonetheless, one fan took issue with her choice of the word "moron" suggesting a "more kind" term could have been used.

In response to this critique, the TV host conceded that the term was "not nice", but explained that despite years of complaints about air fresheners, it was "only this tweet that cut through", reports the Mirror.

In the midst of these health concerns, Air Wick, as one of the leading brands in UK's air freshener market, ensures the safety of their plug-in products, as long as users heed to the instructions provided. These include correct usage such as plugging into a properly working, exposed 230-240-volt electrical outlet ensuring the device is well ventilated and not coming into contact with beddings or other flammable material.

This furore from Allsopp comes hot on the heels of another episode that had her simmering - a close-to-48-hour delay of her British Airways flight. Frustrations poured out as the mishap led to missed hospital appointments and filming schedules, as per the host's lament.

With no resolution in sight, Allsopp appears to be still stuck at the unidentified location, returning to the airport only to realise that the flight's departure had been stalled yet again. Unleashing her fury, she posted on platform X saying: "I don't think I have ever been so enraged by any company as I have been, and still am, with @British_Airways."

Pouring salt on the wound, this recent chapter of more than a 24-hour delay, scarce information and consequential hospital appointment and filming misses, was the icing on an evidently bitter cake. Allsopp didn't rest her case though.

After taking a short break of about ninety minutes, the television host made a comeback on social media to add: "We pitched up at the airport as instructed, 24 hours after our original flight, waited 2 hours to be told that our flight is now delayed by another 21 hours until 5pm local time tomorrow. That amounts to a 47-hour wait in total."

Kirstie's post, which quickly went viral with over 65,000 views, received a swift response from the airline's official account. They invited the aristocrat, who is the eldest daughter of Charles Allsopp, 6th Baron Hindlip, to get in touch so they could "take a closer look" and potentially arrange an earlier flight for her.
