Liverpool midfielder Alexis Mac Allister has issued a warning to his teammates about "overreacting" in their upcoming clash with Crystal Palace this Sunday. This comes after Liverpool's surprising 3-0 defeat against Atalanta in the Europa League on Thursday.

With next week's big challenge to reverse the deficit, Liverpool needs to steer its focus back to winning the title. Before the weekend's matches, only Arsenal remains ahead of Liverpool on goal difference, but a win could see them at the top by next week.

All eyes will be on Liverpool to bounce back from their midweek defeat as Arsenal and Manchester City anticipate their response. Describing the feeling after the loss to Atalanta, Mac Allister shared with club media: "There was not much to say. I think we all feel the same."

"It didn't feel good during the game and it didn't feel good afterward. It's as simple as that. We couldn't do what we wanted; what we know. It's a credit to them as well. They did a very good game. But now we have to react, we have an important game on Sunday against Crystal Palace. We will go there and try to win the game."

Liverpool is the heavy favorite to win against Crystal Palace but has struggled in recent matches by putting itself under unnecessary pressure. Mac Allister wants to help keep this season's Premier League pursuit on track and confirming the need for a solid performance on Sunday at Anfield, the 25-year-old stated: "Yes, of course. That's what we want.

"What I don't want is us to overreact or overthink about this game. It's something that happened just once and we have to keep going. We are the same players, the same team, the same club, with the same fans."

He added: "We all know how good they [Palace] are. I played for Brighton, and Crystal Palace against Brighton is definitely a big game. So I know how tough they are. They have a new and good manager and they are doing well, so it's going to definitely be a challenge for us. But I think if we are in a good day, we can win the game."

Liverpool.com says: It is going to be hugely important for Liverpool that they can bounce back quickly. A strong performance (or even just a strong first few minutes where it goes ahead rather than behind for once) could make a huge impact in the title race. Liverpool has to prove immediately that the Atalanta game was a one-off.
