Though Kylie Jenner's incredible hair switch-ups throughout 2020 have brought us an amazing insight into her natural texture and colour (from her roots to her extension-less ends and beyond), it's rare to see a glimpse of what her real skin looks like.
This summer she shared an all-natural instagram story, detailing what she looks like before and after hair and make-up - but so far she hasn't jumped on the trend of showing her real skin texture with makeup.
Who can blame her? If I had kabillions of followers, I'm not sure it'd be the first thing on my to-do list, either. But the day has come, sound the klaxons - we just got a look at Kylie's amazing skin, sans filter.
...And, well, wow.
This weekend she shared a gorgeous shot, post-glam room, zoomed in on her face with zero smoothing / flattening, captioned "No filter baby" - and she looks as amazing as ever - pores, tiny pimples and all.
Lately we've seen an influx of celebrities baring their faces, makeup free, to show their real skin. We also saw Lady Gaga's real freckles, Jlo's 'morning face', not to mention Ashanti and Victoria Beckham's own no-makeup selfies.
But, while showcasing zero makeup skin is one thing, I'm thrilled to see an increase in celebrities and makeup artists doing the good work when it comes to normalising what real makeup looks like on real pores, dropping the surgery-filters and flattering ring lights.
Lizzo also took to Stories recently to subtly showcase a zoomed-in shot of her skin while revealing a gorgeous makeup look, low-key making a really lovely statement about normalising real skin on Instagram (she didn't even mention dropping the filter - what a legend).
How reassuring is it to be reminded that in real life, this is what faces (yes, even Kylie and Lizzo's faces) look like?
Who's next to join the ranks of the real skin normalisers? Popcorn at the ready.
