Kym Marsh has been flooded with praise, support and compliments as she shared a fresh post to social media and asked 'who am I' as she prepares for her next big career move. The actress is currently filming for next series of Waterloo Road while rehearsing for her return to the stage.

Kym, 47, revealed earlier this year that she's going to be returning to the stage in the new 101 Dalmatians the Musical in which she'll play the Disney villain Cruella De Vil.

This new musical is written by Douglas Hodge (music and lyrics) and Johnny McKnight (book), from a stage adaptation by Zinnie Harris and is reimagined from the acclaimed Regent’s Park Open Air Theatre production in 2022.

The musical will embark on a UK and Ireland tour, launching at the New Wimbledon Theatre later this month on Sunday, June 22, and it will come to Manchester's Palace Theatre for 11 dates between July 30 and August 10, with Kym in the lead role.

Announcing the news on BBC's Morning Live in April, Kym said: "I am about to go off on tour and play Cruella de Vil in 101 Dalmatians. I am so excited, it's really funny because everyone that knows me, including you, would say 'Kym's such a dog lover' so it's weird because obviously I have to pretend that I don't like the dogs.

"And the family are all excited, because obviously it's a very family show, if you're going to come to the theatre you can bring the kids, there's something for everyone."

But Kym is currently burning the candle at both ends as she switches between filming Waterloo Road in Greater Manchester and rehearsing for 101 Dalmatians in London.

Taking to Instagram on Wednesday (June 12), the former Coronation Street star shared a video of herself in hair and makeup as she transformed into her Waterloo Road character Nicky Walters. Captioning the post, Kym said: "Back on set @waterlooroad today!!!

"Missed the team and was gorgeous to see my girl @mandyknightmua who always manages to bring Nicky Walters to life…..No matter how tired I may be! From Cruella to Nicky…….. who am I these days!? [crying laughing emoji] #marshysback #Nicky #setlife."

And her fans and followers were quick to respond. @parksy_1878 said: "Kym you’re the biggest worker in the room. Slaying it queen." @19gdy62 commented: "Gorgeous." @sophielouise950 wrote: "Looking Beautiful Kym." @nigel.gavin1 replied: "Absolutely Gorgeous." @equinemusicfitness_ added: "Yay! Your Dad would be so proud! I’ll be thinking of you on Sunday. The firsts are always the hardest."

It comes after Kym said that her beloved dad Dave Marsh, who died in January after being diagnosed with prostate cancer, would have "loved" his daughter's latest role. Adding on BBC's Morning Live, Kym said: "The sad part is that he won't be around to see it but he would have loved it, he would have been so thrilled to see me play this part but it has come at a good time, give me a bit of a lift and something to get my head into and really look forward to."
