A huge property scheme on an old industrial site in Bristol city centre has been completed after five years. The second phase of Finzels Reach includes hundreds of build-to-rent and affordable homes, and office space.

The £150m regeneration project is a collaboration between developer Cubex, funder Fiera Real Estate and global property advisor JLL. The development brings together three separate projects alongside £5m of public urban space.

The new landmark office building Halo consists of 116,000 sq ft of Grade A space, with tenants including law firm Osborne Clarke and professional services company Deloitte.

The scheme also includes the £63m project Millwright Place - 231 build-to-rent apartments - and Coopers Court, a 10-storey scheme of 66 affordable homes that include social rented and shared-ownership properties.

William Tomlinson, development director at Cubex, said: “The collaborative approach to delivery at Finzels Reach has resulted in the completion of an incredible new neighbourhood that will serve Bristol for years to come. We are excited to continue our relationship with JLL as we move forward in the living sector to deliver a best in class, sustainable development for the benefit of Bristol."

Cubex and funding partner Fiera Real Estate UK acquired the 4.7-acre site for the Finzels Reach scheme in 2013.

More than a decade after the pair originally acquired the site, Finzels Reach is now home to one million sq ft of new space, including 375,000 sq ft of Grade A office space; 737 new homes including 100 affordable properties and 429 build-to-rent apartments; a 168-bed hotel; and 30,000 sq ft of leisure space.

Stuart Brown, director of project management at JLL, added: “Finzels Reach has been a labour of love over the course of a decade to bring to reality a modern, sustainable scheme that Bristol has been crying out for for years. We’re proud of the work the JLL team has done and look forward to seeing it serve as a hub for wider growth in the city.”
