Large Crowds Left Waiting Outside of Australian GP Before Event is Cancelled

Crowds were left to amass outside the Australian Grand Prix in Melbourne amid reports the event would be cancelled on March 13.

Formula 1 announced the cancellation of the event at 10 am, which prompted officials to turn the waiting crowd away.

Gates were due to open at the event for the public at 9:15am local time.

“Still nothing happening an hour after gates official opening time,” Lyndon Gasking posted to Twitter in a video uploaded at around 9:50 am local time.
