The latest average cost to buy a home in every Greater Manchester postcode area

The latest house prices across the region have now been revealed. Our exclusive analysis of new Land Registry data shows the most and least affordable postcode areas to buy a house in Greater Manchester.

The OL8 postcode has the cheapest property prices across the region. Homes in the area - covering Bardsley and Oldham - sold for £150,296 each on average in the last 12 months, which is the lowest average sale price of any postcode area in Greater Manchester.

OL1 - which covers Oldham, Chadderton and Higginshaw - is next with an average sale price of £156,593. That’s followed by M38 (Little Hulton) with an average of £159,458, BL4 (Bolton, Farnworth and Kearsley) with an average of £168,702, and BL3 (Bolton and Little Lever) with an average of £172,124.

At the top end of the market is the WA15 postcode. Houses in the area which covers Altrincham, Ashley, Hale, Hale Barns, Timperley and Ringway sold for an average of £590,437 in the last year up to April. WA14 - covering Altrincham, Bowdon, Broadheath, Dunham Town, Timperley, Dunham Massey and Little Bollington - is next with an average of £526,007.
