Latrell Humphrey-Ewers leaves Oxford City after contract expires

Midfielder Latrell Humphrey-Ewers has left Oxford City to join Bath City after rejecting a new contract.

Humphrey-Ewers informed the club he would not be accepting the offer of a new contract after his current deal had expired.

After climbing through the club's youth ranks, he made his first-team squad debut in the 2022/23 season at Eastbourne Borough.

The local lad quickly became a fan favourite with impressive performances and scored his first goal for the club with a volley at Dover Athletic.

Humphrey-Ewers played a key role in the club's Promotion Final win against St Albans City, stepping in for the injured Alfie Potter in the first-half.

He went on to assist the fourth goal of the match with a flicked header to set up Josh Parker.

He continued to impress during last season's National League campaign, earning the club's Young Player of the Season Award for a second consecutive year.

He also scored some crucial goals during his time with city, most notably a last-minute equaliser away at Eastleigh to complete an impressive comeback.

This was one of four times he found the back of the net during his 45 appearances for the club.

The club said Humphrey-Ewers "leaves with the best wishes of everybody from Oxford City".

He is the latest city player to sort out his contract situation following extensions for Alfie Potter, Jos Parker, Josh Ashby, Reece Fleet, Zac McEachran and Lewis Coyle.
