Lee Anderson has confirmed that he will resume his GB News show after being re-elected in Ashfield despite a row with them on election night. Ashfield's Reform UK MP had been lined up to speak to GB News first after his election win, with the channel having employed Mr Anderson for over a year to host a Friday night show on a salary of £100,000.

Yet the channel ended up keeping Mr Anderson waiting as they reportedly wanted to carry live comments from Labour leader Sir Keir Starmer. "So you're keeping me waiting because of Keir Starmer", Mr Anderson told the GB News production crew based in London over the line.

Around 10 minutes passed before Mr Anderson lost his patience with the channel and turned to speak to the group of around 20 other journalists who wanted to interview him. Cutting his interview with GB News, Mr Anderson said: "We could have done it by now guys. I'm not interested in Keir Starmer, I've been here 10 minutes waiting.

"I've got loads of people [here], I've got a wife in hospital, I need to go." Mr Anderson has previously revealed that his wife Sinead Anderson suffers with cystic fibrosis and he had to take a break from campaigning days before the election due to what he described as a personal matter. Eventually turning to speak to the other journalists, Mr Anderson confirmed he would resume his GB News show following the July 4 election.

The Ashfield MP is the host of 'The Real World with Lee Anderson', which has not been shown during the six-week election campaign due to broadcasting rules during an election. Confirming he would be back at the channel, Mr Anderson said: "The TV presenting takes about two hours a week, I've got a contract with GB News, but my focus is Ashfield. It always has been."
