Leeds United have already been sent Wembley warning as Daniel Farke targets play-off glory

Danny Mills has issued a warning to his former club Leeds United ahead of their Championship play-off final showdown with Southampton. The Whites go to Wembley on Sunday looking to seal an instant Premier League return.

Confidence is high in the United camp following their outstanding showing in the second leg of their play-off semi-final with Norwich City. Daniel Farke's troops ripped the Canaries to shreds, cruising to a comfortable 4-0 win.

Only one place and three points separated United and Southampton in the final standings. But the Saints hold the slight psychological upperhand after completing the double over the Whites during the regular season.

Ex-Whites and Manchester City defender Mills told Sky Sports: “Leeds will be going to Wembley hoping they don't freeze, hoping that they can perform on the big occasion. Leeds are probably just about favourites, although Southampton have played very well this season as well. It will be a massive game, completely sold out, the atmosphere will be absolutely bouncing, there'll be a raucous atmosphere I'm sure of that.

Leeds need to be back in the Premier League, simple as that. We've seen on so many occasions it's not just about the match itself, it's about how you deal with the occasion and this will be no different. Whoever deals with the occasion best will probably go through and win the right to play in the Premier League.”

It remains to be seen if defender Sam Byram (hip) and forward Patrick Bamford (knee) will be available for selection for the final. Farke is expected to provide a team news update later this week at his pre-match press conference.
