Leeds United are keen on keeping Joe Rodon at Elland Road this summer, but could well face competition from Premier League new boys Ipswich Town.

That's according to our colleagues at football.london, who claim Town boss Kieran McKenna is a big fan of the Wales international, who enjoyed a largely successful loan spell in West Yorkshire last season.

Rodon played in all but three Championship games for Leeds as Daniel Farke's men made their way to the play-off final at the end of last month.

However, their defeat to Russell Martin's Southampton at Wembley has placed the future of several stars in doubt, with Rodon one of those currently facing an uncertain future, despite parent club Tottenham extending his contract by a further 12 months.

After his exploits last term, Leeds would clearly love to keep him on board, but they are unlikely to be the only ones interested in making a move. Indeed, former boss Jose Mourinho has already been tipped to show an interest following his move to Fenerbahce.

According to football.london journalist Alasdair Gold, who spoke on the Gold & Guest Talk Tottenham YouTube channel, Ipswich may also be keeping a close eye on Rodon’s situation.

“Joe Rodon will be heading off this summer," he said. "We wait to see where he’s going. I am intrigued to see whether he ends up at someone like Ipswich because I know Kieran McKenna is a big fan of him. I wonder whether that will be an option for him.”

Rodon has already indicated he would like some continuity having spent the past two seasons on loan.

In an interview with the Mail, the Swansea product said: “It would be nice to have stability and know where I am next season. I’ve always strived to get to the elite level and hopefully I can get back there with Leeds, but you never know.

“I don’t want to look too far into the future, although I do love it here and Leeds feels like a second home to me now. I’m just concentrating on giving my best and getting this club back to where it belongs.”
