Leeds United squad revealed for Norwich City as Daniel Farke receives huge boost

Leeds United have no fresh injury concerns to contend with going into today's Championship play-off semi-final with Norwich City.

The Whites will be looking to bounce back after automatic promotion disappointment last weekend, where a 2-1 loss to Southampton ended all hopes of finishing in the top two. Kieran McKenna's Ipswich Town clinched promotion to the Premier League for the first time since 2002 thanks to a 2-0 win over Huddersfield Town.

Leeds secured all six points against Norwich in the two meetings between the promotion hopefuls this season. A 3-2 win back in October and a 1-0 win at Elland Road at the beginning of the year.

The first leg of the semi-final will be held at Carrow Road today, kick-off noon, with the second leg scheduled to take place on Thursday, May 16.

Heading into the clash, Farke has received two major boosts in terms of injuries within his squad. Welsh international Connor Roberts is pushing for a recall after being limited to just 13 minutes off the bench against Southampton.

Elsewhere, his compatriot Daniel James, who missed the last two games due to abdominal strain, could feature in East Anglia. However, striker Patrick Bamford has been ruled out of both legs due to a knee injury.

The 30-year-old striker has not featured since the 4-3 win against his former side Middlesbrough on April 22. "Patrick will definitely miss both legs," Farke said ahead of the Norwich game. "He has seen a different knee consultant and here is minor trauma in his patellar tendon. He definitely needs a couple of weeks to recover.

"It's important that others step up, some others will get our nod and the whole squad has my backing and trust. We don’t feel too sorry for ourselves."

Farke, who will be returning to Carrow Road for the second time this season after managing the club for four years, also spoke about James' chances of featuring. He added: "Daniel James is making good progress,. He's coming closer and closer. There's a chance he will be available."

Long-term absentee Pascal Struijk will not return to action until next season.
