DC's Legends of Tomorrow will be appearing in the upcoming Arrowverse crossover.

Despite previous quotes seeming to indicate that the superhero series was being left out of 'Elseworlds' (which is set to introduce the character of Batwoman), Legends has a cameo in the third hour.

Speaking to Entertainment Weekly, Arrow producer Marc Guggenheim said they wanted to scale back the scope for this year's crossover and primarily focus on Oliver Queen, Barry Allen, and Supergirl.

"It's very hard on the crew, it's very hard on the cast, and we wanted this year to just be a little easier," he said. "That's why we focused on crossing over mainly the leads of the shows and not including a fourth hour.

"The hard thing about crossing over with Legends is, because that's an ensemble show, you're crossing over with the entire cast. That said, there is a Legends cameo in hour 3."

Caity Lotz, who plays Sara Lance, previously said at San Diego Comic-Con over the summer that the Legends cast won't feature in the crossover.

"We're doing our own thing," she said.

Showrunner Phil Klemmer added at the time: "Our show is very, very difficult [to produce]... there are no easy episodes, everything pushes production and post-production and our actors to the absolute brink of exhaustion, and we frankly reached a breaking point."

The CW recently confirmed that Legends' midseason premiere will air in April.

Legends of Tomorrow's fourth season airs Mondays on The CW in the US. The series airs on Sky One and NOW TV in the UK.
