Lena Dunham has said she would like to appear on Celebrity Love Island.
Dunham told Cosmopolitan magazine that after taking a 14 month from dating: “If someone came up to me and they were sweet and asked me to dinner at a pub, or whatever you people do in England, I’d be like,‘Yeah, totally.’ Or if they brought Celebrity Love Island back, I would be so tempted.”
The 33-year-old actress, writer and director underwent surgery in 2017 to remove her womb to treat endometriosis, a painful condition affecting the lining of the uterus. She also suffers from fibromyalgia, a chronic condition causing pain and fatigue and connective-tissue disorder Ehlers-Danlos syndrome.
Dunham - who has been living in rural Wales while shooting her latest TV show Industry - revealed she developed an addiction to painkillers after her split from Bleachers guitarist Jack Antonoff in 2017 that left her not wanting to live.
She said: "I realised I wasn’t just taking medication for physical pain, I was taking medication for the emotional pain too. And then suddenly, especially this stuff, the benzos [benzodiazepines, an anxiety medication], it changes your brain chemistry and suddenly you’re not yourself. You’re not present. You’re not functional.
