Lenny Scott murder police make three arrests after beloved Skelmersdale dad gunned down outside gym

Police investigating the death of a much-loved dad-of-three have made three arrests, it has been confirmed this afternoon (June 5).

Lenny Scott was gunned down in a 'cold blooded assassination' on Peel Road, Skelmersdale, on February 8. The 33-year-old took his nickname from the character Lennie Small in the John Steinbeck novel 'Of Mice and Men'.

Emergency services were scrambled to the scene shortly after 7.30pm. Lenny had been leaving a gym when he was attacked.

Detectives investigating the murder have made three further arrests.

A 34-year-old man and a 28-year-old man have been arrested on suspicion of murder and a 29-year-old woman has been arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender. They are all from Liverpool and are currently in custody.

A spokesperson for Lancashire Constabulary said: "We launched a murder investigation after 33-year-old father-of-three Lenny was shot outside a gym on Peel Road in Skelmersdale on Thursday, February 8.

"Despite the best efforts of emergency services, Lenny, from Prescot, sadly died later in hospital. Our thoughts remain with his loved ones, and they continue to be supported by trained officers. They are aware of the latest developments."

Police have confirmed the two men arrested today have previously been arrested in connection with the investigation. The woman has not been arrested before today.

Five other people have been arrested as part of police enquiries and are currently on bail. Anyone with information is asked to call 101 quoting log 1155 of 9th February.
