Lewis Capaldi has been spotted out and about in Glasgow as he popped into a popular west end cafe for an ice cream.

The Scots star posed with a staff member at the famous University Cafe on Byres Road, as he enjoys some time away from touring and performing.

Sharing the snap of the Someone You Loved singer on their social media, they penned: " Only the best ice cream for our Lewis!"

And many fans flocked to the comments, with one writing: "You get all the stars. Lovely guy hope he’s doing ok now."

Another wrote: "I hope Mr Capaldi enjoyed a knickerbocker glory."

Lewis has been on a career break since June after he took the brave decision to put his mental health first when he struggled on his performance at Glastonbury, and cancelled the rest of his gigs last year.

Lewis hasn't given any indication of when he will return to music, posting back in June, he explained: "I used to be able to enjoy every second of shows like this and I’d hoped three weeks away would sort me out.

"But the truth is I’m still learning to adjust to the impact of my Tourette’s and on Saturday it became obvious that I need to spend much more time getting my mental and physical health in order, so I can keep doing everything I love for a long time to come.”

The singer’s statement continued: "I know I’m incredibly fortunate to be able to take some time out when others can’t and I’d like to thank my amazing family, friends, team, medical professionals all of you who’ve been so supportive every step of the way through the good times and even more so during this past year when I’ve needed it more than ever."
