LG G Pad 10.1 launches in US with UK to follow

LG has announced the launch of its new G Pad 10.1 tablet in the US today which is a global rollout arriving in Europe, Asia and Latin America later this month.

The G Pad 10.1 takes all the best bits for the flagship G3 handset and includes them alongside its large screen and tablet functionality.

The LG G Pad 10.1 will feature a 10.1-inch IPS display with 1280 x 800 resolution. It will be powered by a 1.2GHz quad-core Snapdragon processor and 1GB of RAM. Users get 16GB storage with microSD expansion.

In the front is a 1.3-megapixel camera with a 5-megapixel main camera in the rear. This will come with Touch & Shoot smarts allowing a screen tap to focus and take a picture. Gesture Shot is for selfies allowing the user to make a fist that activates a 3-second timer to snap from a distance.

The G Pad 10.1 comes with Android 4.4.2 KitKat and an 8,000mAh battery for long life. It can be unlocked using LG's Knock Code where tapping the screen in the right order unlocks the device without the need to use a button.

The LG G Pad 10.1 is on sale in the US from later today when pricing will appear.
