Liam Gallagher claims brother Noel ‘will sue him’ over new music documentary

Liam Gallagher has claimed that his brother Noel ‘will sue him' over footage used in his upcoming music documentary, As It Was.

The 46-year-old musician hit out at his estranged brother in a tweet, in which he appeared to allege that his older sibling will ‘sue’ him if clips featuring Oasis songs are used in the film.

“I’ve just been informed that I’ll be sued by the not so mighty little fella and his goons at ignition if I use any footage of me singing Oasis yes Oasis songs in AS IT WAS who’s bitter now eh,” he wrote, alluding to Noel’s management company Ignition.

He signed off the message by appearing to take a swipe at his brother’s planned tour with the High Flying Birds, writing: “Ps Dya want a hand selling those tickets AS YOU WERE LG x.”

Standard Online has contacted representatives for both Gallaghers and for Ignition for comment.

Announced last May, As It Was is set to chart the beginnings of Liam’s solo career, focusing on the lead up to and the release of his debut album As You Were. It is directed by documentary maker Charlie Lightening, who promises that the film offers “unparalleled access to every area” of the Mancunian star’s life.

According to Gallagher, As It Was is a “documentary about my musical comeback. It covers the writing and recording of my first solo album, right through to playing it live for the very first time in my hometown of Manchester and around the world.”

In a previous tweet, the singer told fans that he had seen the film and described it as "mega," going on to congratulate "all involved" in the project.

A release date for the film is yet to be confirmed.
