Libyan Helicopter Pilot Films Dizzyingly Low Flight Near Mediterranean Coast

A pilot with General Khalifa Haftar’s Libyan National Army recorded a video of himself flying an MI-35 combat helicopter at high speed and low altitude over a highway in the north of the country.

The video captures the pilot, Abdel Kader, flying past cars before he gains a little altitude and whizzes over the city of New Brega.

The pilot regularly records and shares dazzling videos of himself flying at speed on social media.

Haftar began an offensive in 2019 to capture Tripoli from the internationally recognized Government of National Accord, and on December 12, the general announced a “final battle” for the Mediterranean city.

In early February, officers from both sides of the country’s civil war held UN-sponsored talks in Geneva, Switzerland, in an attempt to build a lasting ceasefire, according to reports. Credit: Pilot_Beka via Storyful
