Lightning Flashes as Supercell Tracks East Over North Texas

A supercell storm brought heavy rain, high winds, lightning and large hail to parts of north-central Texas on Friday evening, May 13.

This footage is from storm chaser Chad Casey, who said he shot it near Breckenridge in Stephens County.

At 7.19 pm Friday evening, the National Weather Service (NWS) said it was tracking a slow-moving storm just east of Breckenridge that was packing wind speeds of up to 60 mph and reportedly dropping “baseball-sized hail.” They urged people to “seek shelter inside and stay away from windows.” Credit: Chad Casey via Storyful
