Lightning Strike After Game Injures Seven

Seven people were injured when lightning struck a car in a parking lot near the Tampa Bay Buccaneers stadium after a game on Sunday.

The strike kicked up rocks and gravel and knocked a few people down when it hit after the game with Green Bay, Florida officials said.

"The boom came at the same time as the light did," said witness Rudy Hynek.

"It was like the speed of sound type thing. And it was loud. It scared the heck out of everybody," he added.

"It was amazing nobody was killed."

Another witness, Bruce Kudick, said the lightning "shattered the top" of the vehicle.

"It was like a bomb went off," he said.

None of the injuries appeared to be serious, Tampa Fire Rescue spokesman Jason Penny said.
