Lightning strikes father-of-the-bride in the middle of his wedding speech

A father-of-the-bride quite literally got the shock of his life when he was apparently struck by LIGHTNING as he gave his wedding speech.

JP Nadeau revealed how his hand “lit up” while he was holding a microphone during his big moment at his daughter’s wedding.

Mr Nadeau, who was hosting the bash in the apple yard at his home in New Brunswick, Canada, told the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation: “I had the microphone and the shock jumped into the sound system and my hand just lit up and I saw the spark.

“And I’m looking at my hand and it’s all flared up… It was like I was holding a lightning bolt in my hand, it was amazing.”

He added: “And just as I told my new son-in-law ‘You’re a lucky guy’ – Boom!”

Fortunately Mr Nadeau was only left with a small scar on his thumb and the rest of the wedding went by without incident.
