Lights down at busy Island junction causing traffic confusion

Dysfunctional traffic lights at the junction of a main Isle of Wight route are causing some traffic confusion this morning (Sunday).

County Press readers have reported the traffic lights at Downend are down.

This is at the junction of The Downs Road and Downend Road, outside the Hare and Hounds public house.

Some minor traffic delays are being reported on the Downs Road as a result.

The permanent set of lights at Downend were damaged in a hit-and-run incident back in January.

Temporary traffic lights were erected for a time while Island Roads workers carried out repairs.
