Lincoln's most dangerous area where 2,761 crimes were reported in a year

A new crime report has revealed which area of Lincoln is the most dangerous. Every day it seems like Lincolnshire Police are confirming another crime that has taken place in the city, with everything from shoplifting to assaults appearing to occur more recently than in previous years.

According to recent data, there were more than 2,600 crimes recorded in the Park ward of Lincoln in 2023. This gives the area a crime rate of 173 per 1,000 people, which is higher than any other ward in the city for last year.

However, despite having a higher crime rate, the Abbey ward had the most crimes in Lincoln last year, with 2,761 reported to the force. Abbey has a crime rate of 151 crimes per thousand people, whereas the Castle ward had a crime rate of 162 with 905 crimes reported and Moorland had a rate of 168 and 1,105 crimes reported.

Meanwhile, the area with the lowest crime rate and arguably the safest is Hartsholme, where there is a crime rate of 60 per every 1,000 people, after 498 crimes were recorded in the ward last year. However, the area with the lowest number of crimes reported is Witham, which has a crime rate of 74.
