Lincolnshire company Bakkavor looking to employ 120 new staff

A Lincolnshire company is looking to employ 120 new members of staff as it gears up for its busiest-ever summer. Bakkavor in Bourne is recruiting in a number of roles to join its already-1,250-strong staff.

The local business makes prepared fruit, salads and stir fry mixes, with its total number of products exceeding 200. It provides for the UK's leading supermarkets and is now looking to expand its operations.

Bakkavor is recruiting for roles spanning management, team leaders, skilled operative and hygiene. The site has seen demand rise from its supermarket customers and is gearing up for a peak season this summer – with weather forecasters already predicting above-average temperatures through the next five months with a possible repeat of 2022’s extreme heat.

Bakkavor Bourne makes millions of products every week including melon fingers and fruit platters, coleslaw and beansprout stir-fries for the UK’s leading supermarkets. It has also invested over £2m in the prepared fruit part of the factory where it handles over 450 tonnes of melons every week in the summer.
