Linda Nolan has shared the heartbreaking news that her cancer has spread, and admitted it has left her terrified of dying.

The singer, 61, who has incurable secondary breast cancer, recently had a scan that showed tumours on her liver.

Although she is trying to remain positive, Nolan said she had “a really bad day” following the hospital appointment.

She told the Daily Mirror: “I told my sisters I was fine but when I got inside my house, I cried. I needed to have that cry because I’m scared to death of dying.”

Nolan, who has been battling cancer for 14 years, said she wouldn’t ask how long her doctors thought she had left and was hoping to be able to enjoy “a few more Christmases”.

She said: “The consultant was very upbeat and said there was no way we were talking about the last year of my life.”

In 2006 she was diagnosed with breast cancer, and in 2017 was told she had secondary cancer on her pelvis.

In March this year she discovered the disease had spread to her liver and began chemotherapy, which ended in September – but her latest scan has shown that more tumours have grown on her liver.

Nolan said she had met a man from a dating app for a walk in the park and “might see him again”.

But she said: “I wouldn’t want to get too involved with anybody at the moment because I don’t know how long I’m going to be here. I’ve had the love of my life but it would be nice to have somebody to spend time with.”

The Nolan sisters have been hit hard by cancer, losing sister Bernie to breast cancer in 2013.

Another of the sisters, Anne, has been fighting her own breast cancer battle at the same time as Linda and has been told it has nearly gone. Linda said she is “delighted for Anne”.
