Listen to Ethan Hawke and Maya Hawke Cover Willie Nelson's 'We Don't Run' — with His Stamp of Approval!

The cover will be featured on the upcoming album 'Light in the Attic & Friends'

Ethan Hawke and Maya Hawke are doing Willie Nelson justice.

The father-daughter duo are only a couple of the several musicians who will be featured on the upcoming cover album Light in the Attic & Friends, which is set for release on Nov. 24 for Record Store Day / Black Friday.

The album's first release was Ethan and Maya's rendition of Nelson's "We Don't Run," which was featured on Nelson's 1996 album Spirit.

Ethan, 52, shared the news on Instagram, writing that the song has been a "mainstay" in their home since it was released.

Nelson, 90, commented on the post and wrote, "This song is yours now ❤️."

On the track, Maya, 25 — who makes music on her own — and Ethan take turns on each verse before coming together for the peaceful chorus.

More stars expected on the album are Mac Demarco, Iggy Pop and Angel Olsen. The album is meant to spotlight "the most unique — and often forgotten — voices in music," per Billboard.

Maya released her second studio album Moss in September 2022. Meanwhile, Ethan has had a hand in music by portraying fictional musical characters in Seymour: An Introduction, Juliet, Naked and Born to Be Blue.

As for Nelson, he recently headlined Farm Aid 2023 at Ruoff Music Center in Noblesville, Indiana. He was also announced as a performer for Stagecoach Festival 2024.
