We assume that’s meant to symbolise him feeling his own music.

The ‘Pillow Talk’ singer shared the short 28-second audio clip which features his familiar high falsetto on loo, and a distinctly fresh sound.

Zayn, 24, is rumoured to be working with renowned Indian composer A. R. Rahman – who made the score to Slumdog Millionaire and produced MIA’s smash hit ‘Paper Planes’ – for his second album and it seems the pair are in the midst of developing a banger of a tune if this snippet is anything to go by.

Here it is. We like it. What do you think?

There was no caption, though Zayn later tweeted: “Lil taster … More to come”

We can’t wait!

And the One Direction quitter also took a moment to tell off one fan for using “derogatory terminology” when expressing their excitement about his teaser, but said he too was “excited”.

The fan quoted his tweet and said: “Taster ? B***H NEW MUSIC ???”

The snippet comes after the ‘I Don’t Wanna Live Forever’ singer took to Twitter last month to blast the critics who said he should stop making music, as he has no plans to quit any time soon.

He wrote at the time: “I recall someone saying to me a while back music wasn’t my thing and maybe I should try something else..

“I guess we’re all good at doing things we shouldn’t”

Zayn has been working with producer Malay on new music, and he recently dished on the project, saying: “We’re talking about doing a song with him and A R Rahman together and I’m having Zayn in Urdu, it’s real similar to Hindi but it’s Pakistani language. It’s a modern-sounding song, but for him to sing in that language is kind of powerful.”
