A little dog who was used for hunting and seriously injured in suspected badger baiting, is looking for a loving home.

Named Vinnie by the team at Almost Home, he was taken in by them and rehomed, but recently found himself back in their care through no fault of his own.

Charity founder Karen Matthews, said: "Wee Vinnie has had a hard life, he has part of his jaw missing along with several teeth and part of an ear.

"Yet he’s the sweetest and most affectionate boy around people and just he adores humans of all shapes and sizes. In fact he gets so beyond excited when we speak to him, and he literally dances.

"Poor Vinnie has been used for hunting so he cannot share his home with cats or any other small animals.

"And like a lot of Patterdales he’s very much a fan of not having other dogs in his space so he will need to be an only pet in his new home. We are looking for a calm and settled home where there are minimal animals around.

"Vinnie is coping really well in kennels but he doesn’t enjoy being walked anywhere with lots of dogs around him.

"After all our boy has endured in his life at the hands of humans, he deserves a loving home as much as the next dog.

"So please don’t let his unique looks or his quirky little ways put you off considering him for a lifelong companion, Vinnie has the most wonderful wee soul and we have found him a joy to be with."
