Thrill-seeking families are saying this little-known theme park in the Netherlands is just as good as Disneyland but instead of having to buy expensive food on-site you can take your own picnic. Efteling is the perfect getaway location with fun for all the family.

It has two massive complexes adjoined to the incredible theme park with over 30 rides to enjoy as well as a whole host of restaurants and shops. The park has its own theatre too and an enchanted forest to explore, reports MyLondon.

The ticket price starts from as little as €37 but prices vary based on the time you visit. kids three and under can go for free. One happy reviewer said: "Efteling is the perfect outing for a family with small children or anyone wanting to have a good time. It contains a storybook trail through beautiful woods, an amusement park with great rides and carnival games and a huge playground."

"As much fun as Disneyland at about the same entrance price. But it is permissible to bring in food and drink and picnic areas are provided so Efteing is much more pocketbook-friendly. It is beautiful and well-maintained. The perfect place to spend a perfect day"

There are several roller coasters to be gleefully terrified on. One of the biggest is the scary Baron 1898, a steampunk-themed ride which shoots you high up into the sky above industrial chimneys and halts over the death-defying 37.5 metre 90km/h drop straight into a steam-filled 'mine shaft' in the ground before you rush out and up on the other side, leaving your guts behind you.

Another is a unique medieval-themed wooden roller coaster called Joris en de Draak - the Dutch equivalent of George and the Dragon. You can take on the fire-breathing dragon with your screams as you hurtle around the spiderweb of weaving tracks.

If roller coasters aren't you're bag then Efteling has plenty on offer otherwise. You can find amazing enchanted worlds in their Droomvlucht - teaming with fairies and ghouls and other little creatures to find.

They even have a Thai temple which rotates at a height of 45 metres with incredible panoramic views across the park and the surrounding countryside. Not to mention there are riverboat rapid rides, a waterpark set in a pirate fishing village which has its own waves and there is a diorama of a miniature enchanted world.

For times when you need to sit down and relax rather than daring roller coaster rides you can go to their 4D cinema experience to watch their film Fabula, complete with incredible immersive effects in the cinema. There is also a steam train ride around the park to take you to see all the best bits.
