Congratulations are in order for Little Mix star Perrie Edwards, who has welcomed her first child with her other half Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.

The former The X Factor star made the announcement on her Instagram page, where she uploaded two black and white photos: one of the baby's hand and ear, and the other of its foot.

"Welcome to the world baby 21/08/21," she wrote. Alex shared the same photos on his page and captioned them with: "Welcome to the world little one (heart eyes emoji, love heart emoji)."

Perrie's famous friends commented with messages of congratulations, led by bandmate Leigh-Anne Pinnock who wrote: "I am so proud of you and I love you so much. What an angel."

"Welcome baby," wrote Love Island host Laura Whitmore, while former Islander (and Jesy Nelson's ex) Chris Hughes wrote: "Congrats team."

"[Omg] congratulations darling," wrote Stacey Solomon, "Love you lots and lots."

I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here! winner Gianna Fletcher added: "Aaaaaaaaaaaaaah!! Huge huge huge congratulations! Wonderful news!"

The couple announced they were expecting their first child together back in May with similar black and white photos to both their accounts. Perrie called it a "wild journey with my soulmate", while Alex said "Anyone got any advice on how to change nappies? (laughing emoji) So grateful and excited to become a dad (love heart emoji) Bring on the sleepless nights (googly eyes tongue out emoji)."

Leigh-Anne actually announced her pregnancy less than a week before Perrie did, although they all knew ahead of making it public.

In fact, in a Zoom call where the girls told their team they were expecting, their manager said she was pregnant as well, and during the 'Confetti' video shoot, Jade Thirlwall said she pretended to have back issues to mask her bandmate's pregnancies.
