A new live show celebrating “Britain’s greatest rock n roll band” is coming to Leicester and, no, it's not the Beatles. Or the Rolling Stones. Or Led Zeppelin.

Live Forever - The Rise of Oasis will celebrate the famed Manchester band, which included the oft-warring brothers Noel and Liam Gallagher, with live performances of over 30 songs from the band's catalogue. Their story is coming to Leicester’s De Montfort Hall next year in a show that promises to delight fans young and old with a cast of singers and performers taking on the mantle of becoming the Britpop legends.

Organisers say Live Forever is a “must see” for all Oasis fans, hailing them “Britain’s greatest rock n roll band”. The group, famous for huge hits as ‘Don’t Look Back in Anger’ and ‘Wonderwall’, are almost as well-known for their bravado as their beats, with Noel Gallagher once quipping: "We were the last, we were the greatest, nothing anybody else does will be as big as Oasis."

Live Forever, which takes its name from one of Oasis’ biggest songs, will chart the band’s rise to fame from their humble beginnings on a Manchester council estate to when they played to more than 250,000 people at the legendary Knebworth concert. It is billed as a true rags to riches story that puts music at the heart of events.

Oasis’s biggest hits will feature as part of the production, including ‘Some Might Say’, ‘Roll With It’, ‘Champagne Supernova’ and many more. Organisers say it will be an electric event that will transport people back to the 90s and allow them to relive their youth (Gen X - we're looking at you).

Leicester’s De Montfort Hall will host Live Forever - The Rise of Oasis on Sunday, January 12, 2025. More information, including ticket prices, can be found on the De Montfort Hall website.
