A local artist will be painting Oxford's potholes ahead of an upcoming arts festival.

Jane Kelly, who is participating in this year's Oxfordshire ArtWeeks commencing on Saturday, May 11, will host an exhibition in her home.

As a member of the Oxford Art Society and a previous exhibitor at the RA Summer Show and London galleries, Jane will extend her canvas to the streets.

She will be creating art pieces of the potholes in and around her home on Sidney Street.

She said: "I am painting my street, from my front window but also the potholes in the surrounding streets.

"I thought about pothole portraits - it has turned out to be potholes and patching."

Jane says she is "somewhat glad" the Council didn't repair the roads when she asked previously, providing her with a unique muse.
