London attack: Praise for selfless medics who ‘ran into danger’ to save lives in Westminster terror attack
Doctors and nurses have been declared “heroes” after they ran from a nearby hospital to help the injured following Wednesday’s terrorist attack in Westminster.
NHS staff from St Thomas’ Hospital, adjacent to the bridge, immediately raced to the scene – not knowing whether the danger had passed or if they were risking their lives.
Many people have taken to social media to praise them, expressing “overwhelming admiration” and describing them as "real heroes".
Tom Hent tweeted: “Proud of our amazing emergency services, the police and the doctors and nurses who sprinted out of St Thomas's to help.”

Five people including a police officer were killed in London's bloodiest terror attack since 7/7.
Around 40 people were injured as a car mowed down pedestrians on Westminster Bridge while terrified tourists ran for their lives.
The knifeman then stabbed the policeman before being shot dead by armed officers near the Houses of Parliament.
A woman was also among those who died in the attack, which is the bloodiest since the 7/7 London bombings in 2005 when 56 people were killed.
