London Bridge terrorist was trying to get a job at Wimbledon, sources claim

London Bridge terrorist Khuram Butt (pictured top left) was trying to get a job at a security company that provides stewards for sporting events including Wimbledon, it has been claimed.

The Telegraph reported that sources had revealed that Butt, who alongside fellow attackers Rachid Redouane and Youssef Zaghba launched the attack that left eight people dead, had set up an interview with the company that supplies stewards to Wimbledon and Premier League football clubs.

The report has sparked speculation that Butt may have been planning an attack on the world-famous tennis tournament and security services and police are reportedly investigating the 27-year-old’s motive in trying to get the job.

Butt had previously worked for six months on the London Underground until quitting in October, the newspaper said, saying he was able to get a job working at Westminster station because employers are not made aware of security services’ concerns when performing criminal records checks.
