London parlour offers free ice cream for people called Andy during Wimbledon

A London ice cream parlour is offering free ice cream for people called Andy during the Wimbledon tennis champions.

Four Winters Ice Cream is making the offer in homage to Grand Slam-winning British tennis player Andy Murray, following his successful comeback from surgery to win the Men’s Doubles title at Queens last weekend.

For the first two weeks of July, the Gloucester Road parlour will be offering its “Break The Serve” dessert to anyone named Andy who can prove it by showing their ID.

The dessert features “strawberries and cream” ice cream, fresh strawberries and a drizzle of Mazzetti balsamic vinegar, all encased inside a white chocolate tennis ball. Sweet-toothed customers will be handed a tennis racquet to smash into the ace pudding.

People named Andy will be entitled to get one free dessert for every day of the Wimbledon championships. For those who don’t share the same name as the British sports star, the Instagrammable sweet treat will also be available over the same period for £5 per serve.

Three-time Grand Slam winner and two-time Wimbledon champion Murray announced his plans to retire from tennis in a tearful press conference at the Australian Open earlier this year.

Following hip surgery, he has since come back to secure his win at Queens, and will be partaking in the doubles competition at Wimbledon next month.

Break The Serve will be available from July 1-14 at Four Winters Ice Cream parlour, 103 Gloucester Road, Kensington, SW7 4SZ. For more information, visit fourwinters.co
