London Zoo Celebrates Birth of Endangered Asiatic Lion Cubs
London Zoo recently celebrated “a huge conservation success” with the birth of a trio of endangered Asiatic lion cubs in mid-March.
Newly-released video from the Zoological Society of London shows lioness Arya laboring on March 13, and later spending time cuddling with her newborn cubs.
Only 600-700 Asiatic lions are believed to remain in the wild, the zoo said, making the birth of the cubs an important step in conservation efforts. Credit: London Zoo/Zoological Society of London (ZSL) via Storyful
