The 2024 Footway Surface Treatment Programme in the borough is set to start next week.

The works are scheduled to begin on Tuesday, 28 May and end by Friday, 12 July. Footpaths effected will be across Humberston, Laceby and Immingham.

The process involves laying a slurry surfacing to repair minor defects and seal the surface of the footways. This process not only protects them against water but also provides an even and consistent surface free from trip hazards, extending their lifespan.

Planned footway closures for the work will take place between 7:30am and 6pm on the days listed below, but they will be reopened as soon as possible. The work is weather-dependent and other variables can impact the programme, so the schedule may change.

Wilton Road, Humberston 9, 16, 23, 30 June and 7 July.

Jackson Place, Humberston 9, 16, 23, 30 June and 7 July.

Humberston Avenue, Humberston 24 June to 5 July.

Abbots Grange, Humberston - 8 to 12 July.

Maltby Avenue, Laceby, 8 to 12 July.

Winslow Drive, Immingham, 8 to 12 July.

North East Lincolnshire Council states that during the closure period, every effort will be made to maintain access to properties but there may be short periods of time when this will not be possible. However, access for emergency vehicles will be maintained.

Advanced warning signs will be put up on site by the contractor, which will also confirm work days. The council, Equans, and contractor Kiely Bros would like to apologise in advance for any inconvenience.
