Denise Welsh has revealed she was struck down with illness while filming Loose Women on Thursday, with the star thanking her colleagues for 'looking after her' during the show.

An almost permanent fixture on the ITV programme for the last two decades, Denise is one of the most famous faces on the panel and was back in action for its fourth episode of this week, joining host Christine Lampard, Nadia Sawalha and Ayda Field Williams, as Robbie's wife made an unexpected return to the fold and This Morning presenter Dermot O'Leary appeared as a guest.

During the cause of the hour long Loose Women broadcast, Denise and her co-stars talked about a manner of different topics, including what went on in London on Wednesday, when horses from the Household Cavalry broke free and bolted through the streets of London, with This Morning's Ben Shephard bringing the show to a halt as distressing images started to surface.,

In the middle of a talk about if the panel believed in 'soulmates at first sight' Denise spoke about how she first met husband Lincoln Townley at 6am in a London nightclub, joking: "We were the only two left in the place. There was no one else to get on with!"

While she was all smiles on camera, Denise has since taken to Instagram that she was struggling with vertigo throughout the show, posting a selfie from set on her story on Friday and writing: "I loved yesterdays show. All the girls looking after me as I was wobbly with my vertigo!"

She added: "And the gorgeous @dermotleary dancing to join us. Also fab to have @aydafieldwilliasms back with us and hopefully we'll see more of her. And my girls @nadiasawalha and @christinelampard bringing out the devil with me."
