Lorraine Kelly was left slightly red-faced while speaking to fans in Munich where she was backing Scotland and taking on her new role as sports correspondent.

With the Glasgow-born TV presenter out of the country for Euro 2024, Ranvir Singh stepped in to keep her show running. However, things took a slightly awkward turn when she called a pundit by the wrong name.

Introducing the segment where the ITV presenter spoke to fans who travelled to Germany for the match, he said: "Lorraine's fans have been well-behaved so far, unleash them, unleash them on us now, go."

The camera then switched to Munich where Lorraine was surrounded by a group of supporters who had travelled 824 miles - using various modes of transport - to support Scotland, the Daily Record reports.

"Well, as you know, we were talking about Craig's journey," Lorraine mentioned, referring to Craig Ferguson, 20, who embarked on the incredible 1000-mile trip from Hampden Stadium last month.

"Where's Callum?" Lorraine called out to the crowd before being corrected by Callum, whose actual name was Connor. The crowd burst into laughter as they teased and made fun of Lorraine's mistake, leaving her blushing.

"I'm doing it wrong all the time.," she said. "I've been doing it wrong all the time," before jokingly adding: "I nearly called you Shirley."

After brushing off her mistake, the 64 year-old continued her interview, asking Connor to tell her about his journey to Munich.

The fans described his incredible trek to Germany: "So I got a cruise from Sydney to Singapore, bought a bike in Singapore, cycling from Singapore to China. Got a couple of trains through China, cycled into Kazakhstan."

"From Kazakhstan into Kyrgyzstan from Kyrgyzstan into Uzbekistan," highlighted Lorraine, noting: "All the Stans then." Connor went on: "Azerbaijan, cycled from Azerbaijan into Georgia and into Turkey and then me and my dad have driven from Turkey, through Bulgaria, Serbia, Croatia, Slovenia, Austria and..." but was cut off by an enthusiastic Lorraine who exclaimed: "And now you're here!"

Remarkably, even after travelling all the way from Australia, Connor arrived without a ticket for the game, which led Lorraine to appeal to the audience to offer him one.
