Long lost diamond ring found on carrot 13 years after it went missing

A woman who lost her engagement ring 13 years ago has it back on her finger – after it was found on a carrot in her garden.

Mary Grams, 84, from Alberta, Canada, was devastated when she lost the ring while weeding her farm in 2004.

She said she never told her late husband, Norman, that she lost the ring, but did tell her son.

This week her daughter-in-law Colleen Daley pulled up a lumpy and misshapen carrot in the garden – and found the ring wedged onto the middle of it.

Ms Daley, who now lives on the farm where Mrs Grams used to live, showed the ring to her husband – and he instantly knew it belonged to his mother.

Mrs Grams has now been reunited with her long lost ring and she is delighted to still be able to wear it.

She told CBS News: “I’m going to wear it because it still fits.”

Mrs Grams has now vowed to keep her ring safe, adding: “If I am going outside or anything I am going to put it in a safe space.

“That is what I should have done.”
