Louis Rees-Zammit is back in Wales, and has been a busy boy since returning home.

The former Wales rugby star headed back from Kansas last weekend, after spending the last few months in America. Rees-Zammit had signed a three-year deal with Super Bowl Champions Kansas City Chiefs and has since got his pre-season underway with the team.

Posting on Instagram, Rees-Zammit revealed he was heading back to Wales on Friday evening. From there, the Welshman was re-united with his family and attended Mocka Lounge cocktail bar on Mill Lane in Cardiff, where they enjoyed some drinks together.

Next on the agenda for the NFL running back was some fresh ink with Scottish tattooist and rugby fan Lewis Greig. Hailing from Edinburgh, Greig has over 25,000 followers on Instagram, and revealed that Rees-Zammit got in touch with him in the DMs about getting some new artwork on his arm. Check out Greig's page here.

During the session in Cardiff, the Chiefs man was asked who he hangs around with at the Super Bowl champs, and he explained that there were just "groups" of friends at Chiefs. He was then asked by Greig whether he thought he would make the team, and Rees-Zammit said he "doesn't really know" and it will "come down to what the people (coaches) think."

"He's pretty confident I think," said Greig. "Hopefully he makes the final 53-man squad. I hope he makes it, that would be really good."

Rees-Zammit paid for Greig's expenses to come down to Cardiff to get the tattoo done. The pair met at a private space in the Welsh capital, where Greig spent 9.5 hours grafting on the 23-year-olds arm.

"I woke up to a message from him a couple of months ago," explained Greig.

"I've always been a rugby fan, so it's pretty cool to see that because I grew up playing rugby. He messaged me, he asked me if I'd be available on these dates and I said - 'Yeah I can make myself available' - he said he was going to be back from Kansas for a couple of weeks just to see the family.

"So, he'd rather pay for my expenses to go down there instead of coming up here. Because obviously he wants to spend some time down there while he's here. We did it at a private space down in Cardiff. I'm fully licenced and have been for six years."

Greig explained that this was the first time he had done work for Rees-Zammit, with the Welshman explaining to the tattooist that he got the previous lower forearm tattoo whilst he was abroad.

The style of the tattoo was centred around Greek mythology, having Zeus drawn on his upper outer arm, with Medusa on the inner arm.

"He also got a little section dedicated to his family," continued Greig. "So, he had a silhouette of the mum and the dad and the two brothers down on his inner wrist. He had a couple of friends there giving him moral support, so that was nice."

Speaking on whether Rees-Zammit has any more ink lined up, Greig said: "I think he's had quite a painful couple of days! So at the minute he's not got anymore planned! If he does want any more he'll be happy to get back in touch with me."

Rees-Zammit then showed off his new tattoo at the Taylor Swift gig at the Principality Stadium in Cardiff. He attended the show with his brother Taylor amongst 76,000 spectators at the home of Welsh rugby.
